Teesri Manzil is a Classic 1966 Bollywood Mystery Thriller.The movie is rated amongst the Top 10 Greatest Bollywood Thrillers ever made.The movie was the second collaboration between Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh.They earlier starred in Dil Deke Dekho(1959).That movie was also produced by Nasir Hussain.
The movie is popular for not only its unique story but also the foot tapping divine music by R.D Burman.Songs like o mere sona re sona ,o hasina Zulfon wali, deewana mujhsa nahin among others became huge hits.The instrumental theme composition of the movie still feels fresh and ever green. The movie originally was 168 minutes long but the dvd version ran for 145 minutes.But now the uncut version is also available in 1080p HD online for free download.The edited version is in 720p.
Salim Khan,father of Salman Khan played the lead character's best friend in the movie.He had started is career as an actor before becoming a writer.
Dev Anand was the original leading man for the movie but was replaced with Shammi Kapoor after developing differences with producer Nasir Hussain.
The producer Nasir Hussain was the paternal uncle of Aamir Khan.
Geeta Bali,the then wife of Shammi Kapoor passed away while the film was being made.As a result,Shammi went into depression and the production was halted for 3 months.
Vijay Anand,Dev Anand's younger brother directed the movie.This was the only time that he worked with Nasir Hussain on a project.
